A. Account & Authentication Information: If you sign in or create an account, we collect your basic profile information (such as name, email address, and profile image) managed securely via Supabase Authentication. Passwords and credentials are managed securely by authentication providers; we never store raw passwords.
B. Learning Progress & Study Data: We collect and synchronize study data to help you track progress across devices. This includes Minna no Nihongo (1-50) lesson status, Irodori Japanese course progress (Starter, Elementary 1 & 2), JLPT N5-N1 vocabulary reviews, Spaced Repetition System (SRS) history, quiz scores, and kanji mastery levels.
C. AI Tutor Interaction Data: Conversations with the AI Japanese Tutor are processed securely via Google Gemini API to generate explanations, translations, and learning responses. We do not use your AI interactions for public advertising.
D. Local Storage & Device Data: Audio tracks, offline flashcard caches, and application state are stored locally on your device using IndexedDB and LocalStorage to enable uninterrupted offline learning.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Deliver Learning Features: Provide interactive Japanese lessons (Irodori & Minna no Nihongo), audio playback, SRS revision intervals, and quiz scoring.
- Cross-Device Syncing: Synchronize your study streak, completed lessons, and user preferences across mobile and web platforms.
- Offline Mode: Store lessons and audio files locally so you can continue learning without an active internet connection.
- App Security & Subscription Management: Verify device bindings and access authorizations to maintain account integrity.
3. Data Storage & Security
User account data and cloud sync information are stored securely using Supabase services. Local offline databases reside strictly on your device. All data transmitted between your device and cloud servers is encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS technology.

5. Account & Data Deletion Policy
In compliance with Google Play Developer Policies, Nihongo Pathway provides users with full control over their account and personal data. You have the right to request the complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
How to Request Account & Data Deletion:
To request the permanent deletion of your account and personal data, please follow these steps:
- Send an email from your registered email address to boktiarshakil2003@gmail.com.
- Use the subject line:
Account Deletion Request - Nihongo Pathway. - Include your full name and registered email address in the body of the message.
What Data is Permanently Deleted:
Upon receiving and verifying your request, we will permanently delete the following data from our cloud servers (Supabase) within 30 days:
- User profile details (Name, Email address, Account ID).
- Synced learning progress (Minna no Nihongo & Irodori lesson completion).
- Spaced Repetition System (SRS) vocabulary study logs and flashcard retention history.
- JLPT quiz scores, Kanji mastery records, and user streaks.
- Device binding tokens and active session records.
What Data is Retained:
- Local Cache: Any lesson data, audio files, or study caches stored locally on your mobile device/browser will remain until you uninstall the app or manually clear app data/cache in Android Settings.
- Aggregated Anonymous Analytics: Non-personally identifiable performance and speed metrics may be retained for app stability.
6. Children's Privacy
Nihongo Pathway is an educational tool intended for general audiences learning Japanese. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
